If you want to start succeeding with having a better quality of life, a great first step would be to stop negative conversations with yourself.
Sometimes, I fall into this trap, too.
I might be interviewing a prospective client and ask a question like, “What are you struggling with?”
This kind of language assumes that the person is struggling … it’s a pretty negative place to begin a conversation, don’t you think?
Focus on the positives, instead.
And when you experience a win – no matter how small – celebrate it.
Losing 30 pounds would be an awesome accomplishment, but it’s not going to happen today.
Instead, focus on something you can do today that will move you closer to that goal.
Getting protein with every meal.
Doing a strength training workout.
Drinking half your bodyweight in ounces of water.
Getting at least 7 hours sleep.
Each of those might seem insignificant, but they all add up.
So my advice today is not to focus on the destination. Sure, dream big when setting your goals … but think small when it comes time to doing the little things each day that will get you there.
Did you meal prep last weekend? That’s a win. Celebrate it.
Squeeze in a home workout after you got stuck late at work? Another win. Give yourself a high-five.
Substitute an extra serving of veggies for carbs with dinner? Another seemingly small decision that, over time, will add up to big results.
Got 7 hours of sleep last night? Do that consistently, and your body will thank you later … both in ways that you can see (more muscle tone, less fat, healthier skin) and ways that you can’t (healthier cells and hormonal balance).
So along those lines, what’s ONE SMALL WIN that you’ve had over the past week? It might be something that you didn’t notice because you didn’t think it mattered.
But now you know, it does.
A lot.
Take a moment to share one win from the past week with me. I’d love to celebrate it with you. 🙂
